Kevin James, uh, Elena Kagan not too keen on gun rights

Kagan Said She Was `Not Sympathetic' Toward Gun-Rights Claim - Bloomberg

Kagan in a note to Justice Thorgood Marshall: "The man’s “sole contention is that the District of Columbia’s firearms statutes violate his constitutional right to ‘keep and bear arms,’” Kagan wrote. “I’m not sympathetic.”
She also had this to say:
“There is no question, after Heller, that the Second Amendment guarantees individuals the right to keep and bear arms and that this right, like others in the Constitution, provides strong although not unlimited protection against governmental regulation,”

This leaves the door wide open for several new controls on gun ownership. I would hazard to guess that she is very much in favor of a national gun registry, followed by bans of certain types of firearms, say semi-automatic rifles and handguns, then bans on certain types of accessories like scopes and flash suppressors. A national registry is the first step toward out and out confiscation. If you register them, the government will know where to find them.

As Thomas Jefferson so eloquently put it, "Those who beat their swords into plowshares, will plow for those who do not." I plow for no man but myself.
