Dumping American Citizenship and Embracing Liberty Abroad

During the last administration, Republicans would often tell complaining Democrats "if you don't like America, then maybe you should leave". None of them did leave but they all made quite a ruckus about being citizens here, too and that they didn't have to go anywhere and that they would one day be in power and they were going to changes things. Boy, that was an understatement. It seems that now, those with the means to do so are taking their own advice and leaving the USA for a better chance at personal liberty and freedom somewhere else.
I toy with the thought of packing my bags, learning a new language and setting up shop in Central or South America, or even the South Pacific - like New Zealand (if they'd let me in). The only reason this isn't a appealing option for me is the thought of making myself a willing voluntary refugee. Not really my style. So, here are the choices: Pack up and leave and let what was once the greatest beacon of freedom and liberty in the world collapse under it's own weight, or stay and fight the good fight in the hopes that sanity can be restored to our fiscal policies and the course of self destruction can be reversed.
