Move to lower bar for grads OnlineAthens.com
You know, the public school system is the only system that I am aware of where you are rewarded for failure. The teachers unions demand more money so they can have "quality" teachers to put into failing schools. Supposedly better pay will yield better results. How about rewarding the results after the fact instead of before?
Now in Athens Clarke County, Georgia, my home town, the bar is being lowered even farther. Now to make the graduation statistics look better, you can fail 8 classes and still recieve a diploma. Notice I didn't say earn a diploma.
